GEO audit
The seraif GEO audit shows whether ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google name your company for provider questions. It costs €3,500 to €5,000 one-off and ends with a six-month roadmap, sorted by impact.

Contents of the GEO audit
The audit checks four areas. Each area ends with concrete tasks for your team or for seraif.
Questions and answers
seraif asks ChatGPT and Google your customers' provider questions and evaluates every answer. You see where your company is missing and how it is described.
- Prompt set from your customer questions
- ChatGPT with web search
- Google AI Overviews
- Description of your brand
- Incorrect statements
Who is named instead of you
For each question the audit records the providers AI systems recommend instead. A comparison shows which pages, mentions and links these competitors have.
- Competitors named
- Sources cited
- Lists and directories
- Referring domains
- Page titles of cited pages
Access for crawlers
The audit checks whether the search crawlers of OpenAI, Google and Bing reach your pages. Blocks in the CDN or the firewall are part of it.
- robots.txt
- CDN and firewall rules
- Indexing
- Structured data
- llms.txt
Roadmap by impact
At the end there is a six-month plan that orders the tasks by impact. Each task names the evidence from the audit and a metric for progress.
- Prioritised measures
- Evidence per measure
- Metrics
- Results call
- Usable without seraif
What a GEO audit reveals
A GEO audit also shows why a company is missing from AI answers. For ChatGPT, this can be read from the pages the model retrieves in its web search.
seraif tested the method on its own website in October 2026. ChatGPT returned 831 search results for 22 questions, and seraif.de did not appear once, even though the site ranked first on Google for several of the questions.
The roadmap therefore starts with the Bing index and the bot settings in the CDN, followed by content and mentions.
Our own results
seraif measures its own visibility with the same method. When people look for a Google Discover expert, ChatGPT puts Moritz Serif first.

Who is behind seraif?
Moritz Serif carries out every audit himself. He founded seraif and trained as a journalist and SEO.
He learned research and source checking in eight years of newsroom work, including t-online, Funke and NDR. One publisher reached 13.2 million clicks in a year through his work on Google Discover and news boxes.

Catalina GeibPolicy and Press Comms Manager, Amazon
Stimme Mediengruppe“Moritz comes from the newsroom, and you can tell in his SEO work. In an SEO audit he showed us where we were giving away traffic potential. He put his finger on the sore spot, and that is exactly what moved us forward, including on Google Discover.”

Typical occasions for a GEO audit
A GEO audit pays off as soon as AI answers influence your customers. These four occasions are the most common.
Four occasions
- Other providers in AI answers – Customers report that ChatGPT recommends competitors
- Fewer enquiries – Leads are falling although Google rankings are holding
- Relaunch planned – The new website should be built for AI search from the start
- Wrong information – ChatGPT or Google state outdated prices, services or locations

You get a report with all answers, competitors and sources plus a six-month roadmap. In the results call Moritz Serif goes through the plan with you.
An SEO audit checks rankings and technical setup for Google Search. A GEO audit also checks the answers of AI systems, the competitors named there and the sources the systems read.
ChatGPT with web search and Google AI Overviews are standard. Perplexity, Claude or Google AI Mode are added if your customers use them.
You can test individual questions in ChatGPT and Google yourself at any time. A full audit, as specialised providers carry it out, also shows the pages ChatGPT retrieves in the background and compares many questions across several systems.
